River Rock Casino Resort, Vancouver BC
On a recent visit to Vancouver, BC, I stayed at the River Rock Casino Resort courtesy of Hotwire.com. I searched for accommodation central to downtown Vancouver and the activities I wanted to do while in the city, such as visiting Granville Island Market. I knew the area I wanted to stay in and used the Hot Rate® feature for a deep discount.
Pro tip: if you know the city, town, or area where you want to stay and what accommodations are in the area, you can make an educated guess of the hotel you’ll be booked into. Hotwire also gives you a hint by noting which hotel was most recently booked by others.
River Rock Casino Resort
My stay was in the hotel tower across the road from the main building, containing the resort, gift shop, restaurants, and a Starbucks. It’s an easy stroll through the covered walkway from the tower to the hotel without going outside and crossing the street.
Why you’ll never want to leave:
I have heard the beds are amazing; my experience has confirmed this. When I first arrived, I curled up to read and was so comfortable it was a struggle to get up and go out for dinner. They even had a program to purchase a bed directly from the warehouse. It’s on my wish list to own one of these beds! Then again, I’d probably never leave my house!
A Nespresso coffee machine in each room is only secondary to the amazing beds. I may want to purchase one of these as well… does it sound like I’m recreating my experience in my own home?
Dining
There are a few dining options, but I chose The Buffet for my meals. If you’re into tech and social media, they now accept WeChat Pay. There is a vast selection of cuisine from many cultures, but I prefer seafood wherever I go! I need to go back for Dungeness Crab Nights.
Casino
I bet you’re wondering if I spent any time in the casino… I’m not a gambler, but I had to try some slot machines! I decided on a small budget to spend, gambled, and lost, but at least I tried.
