We had a wonderful dining dome experience with high tea and wine tasting at Frind Estate Winery in West Kelowna, BC! The kitchen staff were amazing and did such a fabulous job with our meal.

Winter might not be the first season that comes to mind when I think of visiting a winery, but my trip to Frind Winery proved that magic can be found even in the chilliest of months. Nestled on the shores of Okanagan Lake, Frind Winery offers an enchanting experience that combines the serenity of winter landscapes with the warmth of exceptional hospitality. Here’s a recap of our unforgettable afternoon at Frind Winery, where we indulged in a lakefront wine tasting and high tea in a dining dome.
Arriving at Frind Winery
When we arrived at Frind Winery, we were greeted by a breathtaking winter scene. The vineyards, blanketed in snow, stretched out towards the frozen lake, creating a picturesque backdrop that felt straight out of a fairy tale.

Our experience began with a lakefront wine tasting. Despite the chilly temperatures, we moved to a cozy, heated outdoor dining dome, where we could comfortably enjoy our afternoon tea while enjoying the stunning lake views.
The tasting featured a selection of Frind’s finest wines. From crisp whites to robust reds, every sip was a testament to the winery’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Our knowledgeable host guided us through the tasting, sharing insights about each wine’s characteristics and the winemaking process. Our favourite wine ended up being the Viognier.
High Tea in a Dining Dome
Next, we moved outdoors for high tea in one of Frind Winery’s enchanting dining domes. These transparent, igloo-like structures are designed to offer a unique dining experience, allowing us to enjoy the surroundings while staying warm and comfortable.
Inside our dome, the table was beautifully set, and a heater and blankets were available to keep us warm. The high tea menu featured an assortment of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, and a selection of pastries. Each bite was a delightful blend of flavours and textures, perfectly paired with fragrant teas—the combination of delicious food, beautiful views, and a unique setting made for an unforgettable afternoon.

Our visit to Frind Winery was more than just a wine tasting and a high tea; it was an escape into a winter wonderland where they created such a memorable experience for us.
